Well, I'm back from my first Dragon Con. It was quite an experience. I don't think I slept very much. Since it was my first huge convention, I didn't have much to compare it to.

Overall, it seemed to be a massive masquerade party, with about 10,000 people in costume. Mostly I just took pictures of all the guests in their costumes and wandered aimlessly through the hallways. I watched several short movies in the screening room and that was a lot of fun. I also attended several panels on writing, filmmaking, video game design, and Star Trek. While these were good at re-focusing my creative chi on coming home and getting to work on my current projects, I don't know if I learned anything new.

I met up with two members of my club and we spent some time hanging out and eating. But I spent a inordinate amount of time just walking and walking and walking around. I definitely got my exercise. I ate mostly in the food court and drank more coffee in three days than I normally would all month.

I watched the Dawn beauty pagent, a live Radio show, two concerts, and lots of people. On Sunday night, I played "Are you a Werewolf", a fun group game till 4:30 am.

Would I go again? Maybe when they invite me as a panel or special celebrity guest. Actually it was more than good to do something that extends my interests and passions. But now I need to get to work and create my own story.

For those of you that don't know about it, Dragon Con is THE science fiction convention in North America. While it s not as prestigious as the infamous world's, it is most definitely the largest. This event is held every year --featuring writing workshops, gaming, a full film festival, costuming, art show, and anything else that effects science fiction, fantasy, film, movies, books and games.

Show be an eye-opening experience to the possiblities for my creativity. I'll be back to post about it Next Week.
